Bangkok to Ayutthaya:
Take Route 32 (Asian Highway 1) northbound from Bangkok.
Continue on Route 32 until you reach Ayutthaya.
Ayutthaya to Lop Buri:
Take Route 3111 eastbound from Ayutthaya.
Continue on Route 3111 until you reach Lop Buri.
Lop Buri to Nakhon Sawan:
Take Route 1 (Asian Highway 2) northbound from Lop Buri.
Continue on Route 1 until you reach Nakhon Sawan.
Nakhon Sawan to Bang Mun Nak: I said this is an option, but you should really do it as you're driving!
Take Route 117 northbound from Nakhon Sawan.
Continue on Route 117 until you reach Bang Mun Nak.
Bang Mun Nak to Phitsanulok:
Take Route 117 westbound from Bang Mun Nak.
Continue on Route 117 until you reach Phitsanulok.
Phitsanulok to Lampang
- Take Route 11 south from Phitsanulok for about 200 km until you reach Den Chai.
- Turn left onto Route 101 and continue for about 40 km until you reach Nakhon Lampang.
- Follow the signs to Lampang city centre.
Lampang to Chae Son National Park:
Take Route 1 (Asian Highway 2) northbound from Lampang.
Continue on Route 1 until you reach Chae Son National Park.
Chae Son National Park to Lampang:
Take Route 11 southbound from Chae Son National Park.
Continue on Route 11 until you reach Lampang.
Lampang to Chiang Mai:
Take Route 11 northbound from Lampang.
Continue on Route 11 until you reach Chiang Mai.
Chiang Mai to Sukhothai (on the way back):
Take Route 11 southbound from Chiang Mai.
Continue on Route 11 until you reach Sukhothai.
Sukhothai to Nakhon Sawan
Start from Sukhothai Historical Park and head east on Route 12 for about 58 km.
Turn left onto Route 117 and continue for about 90 km until you reach Pak Nam Pho in Nakhon Sawan.
Nakhon Sawan to Khao Yai National Park:
Take Route 1 southbound and merge onto Route 32.
- Continue on Route 32 for about 120 km, then take the exit for Route 33.
- Follow Route 33 for about 80 km, then turn left onto Route 3077.
- Drive for about 40 km on Route 3077, then turn right onto Route 2090.
- Follow Route 2090 for about 20 km, then enter Khao Yai National Park
Khao Yai National Park to Bangkok:
Take Route 2 (Asian Highway 1) southbound from Khao Yai National Park.
Continue on Route 2 until you reach Bangkok.
