There's something for everyone on Koh Chang, and you'll love the laid-back vibe of this island paradise.
Koh Chang has nice beautiful waterfalls worth visiting: Klong Plu, Than Mayom, and Klong Nonsi.
Klong Plu, located on the west coast, is easily accessible with a 600-metre walk from the entrance, which charges 200 baht for adults and 100 baht for children. It's best to visit during weekdays to avoid the crowds.
Than Mayom Waterfall, on the east coast about 15km from the ferry piers, features a newly improved access area. The walk to the waterfall is easy, making it suitable for families, with safety measures in place during the rainy season.
Klong Nonsi, a free waterfall on the eastern fringe of Dan Mai village, is accessible via a short walk through fruit fields after a small parking fee. While the falls aren’t large, they offer refreshing spots to swim, especially from May to November. Rainey season.
All these waterfalls provide a great opportunity to unwind, swim, and enjoy the natural scenery around the island.
You can also hike in the lush jungles and observe various plants and animals, such as monkeys, deer, and birds. While there are no signposted trails, or guided online treks available as far as I can see, you can see these being offered in places like hotels. Hikes vary, suitable for families with young children to those seeking a serious challenge for their stamina. There are some fantastic trekking options around Koh Chang.
Koh Chang offers excellent kayaking to explore its stunning coastline and nearby islands. Highlights include:
Klong Prao Kai Bae Areas: Rent kayaks from local resorts for about 300 baht for half a day or 500 baht for a full day and paddle to small offshore islands.
Salakkok Bay: Rent from Salakkok Kayak Station to enjoy a tranquil experience through mangroves and the bay.
Salphet Bay Kayaks: are available at Island View Resort for paddling through canals and stopping at sandy beaches.
Bangbao Bay: Discover Bangbao Bay and Wai Chek Beach, with options for snorkelling around Koh Klum.

For those looking for a thrill, rock climbing on the island's cliffs provides both challenging and spectacular views. You even climb the highest peak Khao Salak Phet, if you're feeling brave enough.
Also, try zip-lining through the treetops, an exhilarating way to take in the panoramic vistas of the island's landscape.

You can find nightlife spots in different parts of the island, but the most popular ones are Lonely Beach, White Sand Beach, and Kai Bae Beach.
If you like to party on the beach and feel the music in your bones, you should check out Lonely Beach.
There are also many beer bars in White Sand Beach, or try Chai Chet and Kai Bae (Walking Street). You can also enjoy live music everywhere on the island - from Thai artists to open mic nights.
Its not all mad, you can go to the south end of the island, to Hat Sai Noi and Bang Bao Beach for a more chilled nightlife, like me in this picture, yeah I'm older now.
Koh Chang is a diver's paradise with beautiful coral reefs and marine life. The best time to dive is from November to May when the seas are calm and visibility often exceeds 10 meters.
Ideal for both beginners and experienced divers, the primary dive sites include Hin Luk Bat, Hin Rap, Hin Nam Tai (Blueberry Hill), and Hin Rua Tek (Banana Rock), located 3 to 5 kilometres south and southwest of the island.
In the Marine Park at Koh Rang, popular spots include The Pinnacles (Hin Daeng Ga), Koh Yak, and 3 Finger Reef (Kuak Hin Ma).
Just on a side not, Koh Chang may seem wild right now but that's just options really, actually, Koh Chang for the most part is a very relaxing place to come.
Please wear some beach shoes or sandals. You might think it's more fun to feel the sand between your toes but trust me, it's not worth the risk. There's a lot of broken glass on the beach, we saw a lot, and it can cut your feet badly. I know this because my wife was one victim of this in Koh Chang. She stepped on a sharp piece of glass in the sea, so it must have been quite new and had to go to the hospital for stitches. So please, don't make the same mistake we did. Wear beach shoes on the beach and protect your feet from harm.
Koh Chang is a dream destination for anyone who loves nature, culture and fun. You can hike through the jungle, swim in the sea, visit temples and markets, or party all night long. Koh Chang has something for every taste and mood, but the best thing about Koh Chang is just relaxing and enjoying the amazing views of this beautiful island.
